Sophie Peterson is a visual artist and art director based in Chicago, Illinois. She has been creating art since childhood and has focused her practice on Acrylic Painting and 2-D collage work. She incorporates unconventional, traditionally feminine mediums into her work like glitter, gold leaf, and found objects to create chaotic yet calculated euphoric textures.

Her work aims to explore paradigmatic relationships related to her lifelong study of mental health, with an emphasis on automatic painting and color theory incorporated into her works.

Sophie's work has been featured in publications across the United States and galleries and bars around downtown Chicago, including Rubberneck Gallery, Three Seeds, Tradition Gastropub, Columbia Library on Michigan Avenue, and has earned partnerships with contemporary art services including State of the Art Chicago.
